Worm Farm Kickoff
Join us in starting our worm farm!
The Worm Farm Kickoff introduces participants to the science of composting and the vital role worms play in healthy soil systems. During this hands-on event, participants will build and start DHCG’s worm farm, learning how food scraps are transformed into nutrient-rich compost that supports plant growth.
Participants will explore basic soil biology, understand what worms need to thrive, and learn how vermicomposting reduces waste while improving garden productivity. Through guided activities, they will feed the worms, set up the habitat, and observe how small organisms contribute to larger agricultural systems.
This event emphasizes environmental responsibility, systems thinking, and sustainable food practices, showing participants that they can contribute to soil health and food production—even in small spaces.
