Berry Sweet Jam Fest

Join us in making strawberry jam!

The Strawberry Jam Making Workshop introduces participants to food preservation and value-added agriculture through a hands-on jam-making experience. During this event, participants will transform fresh strawberries into jam while learning how fruit, heat, and timing work together to create a shelf-stable product.

Participants will explore where strawberries are grown, how ripeness affects flavor and texture, and the importance of proper preparation and food safety. They will measure ingredients, follow sequential steps, and observe the changes that occur as fruit is cooked and preserved.

This workshop emphasizes self-reliance, resourcefulness, and an understanding of how preserving food reduces waste and extends the harvest. Participants will leave with a deeper appreciation for the process of turning fresh agricultural products into foods that can be enjoyed beyond the growing season.
