Cockrell Butterfly Center

Let’s walk with the butterflies!

The Cockrell Butterfly Center Field Trip offers participants an immersive learning experience focused on pollinators, life cycles, and ecosystem balance. During this guided visit, participants will observe live butterflies and other invertebrates while learning how habitats support each stage of a butterfly’s life.

Participants will explore the role butterflies and pollinators play in plant reproduction and food production, making direct connections between conservation, agriculture, and healthy ecosystems. The experience reinforces scientific observation, curiosity, and respect for living systems through real-world exposure.

This field trip expands learning beyond the garden, helping participants understand how protecting pollinators supports biodiversity, crop production, and resilient food systems.
