Fun Fall Planting
Let’s plant!
Planting Day is a recurring, hands-on garden event where participants take an active role in establishing seasonal crops throughout the fall. During each session, participants will prepare beds, plant seeds and transplants, and learn how timing, spacing, and crop selection influence successful growth. Participants will explore what crops thrive in cooler temperatures, how soil conditions affect germination, and why proper planting techniques matter for long-term plant health. The activity reinforces observation, responsibility, and care as participants return over time to monitor progress and respond to changing conditions. This ongoing event emphasizes consistency, patience, and stewardship, helping participants understand that planting is not a one-time activity, but the beginning of an ongoing relationship with the land and the growing season.
