Join us in making bread and lunch meat from scratch!
The Turkey Processing & Bread Making Workshop introduces participants to foundational food system skills by exploring how raw agricultural products are prepared and transformed into meals. During this hands-on event, participants will learn about poultry as an agricultural product and the steps involved in responsibly processing turkey for food use.
In addition, participants will prepare and bake fresh bread, learning how basic ingredients are measured, mixed, and transformed through fermentation and baking. The workshop highlights the relationship between agriculture, food preparation, and cultural food traditions, while reinforcing concepts such as sequencing, food safety, and kitchen responsibility.
This event connects livestock production and grain-based foods to everyday meals, helping participants build practical skills, respect for the work behind food production, and a deeper understanding of how farm products become nourishing foods.
