Strawberry Full Circle Experience: Processing & Preservation Day
Let’s make jam, jelly, and ice cream!
Participants transform their freshly harvested strawberries into homemade jam, jelly, and ice cream through a structured, hands-on food processing experience. Guided by DHCG educators and informed by WCSHC’s established canning practices, participants learn proper cleaning methods, measurement, food safety, and preservation techniques. The session emphasizes teamwork, applied science, and problem-solving as participants experiment with texture, taste, and technique. Each participant leaves with finished products and practical skills that reinforce self-sufficiency and food knowledge.
