Wasp Wonders: Inside the Nest
Explore Nature’s Pest Control!
Participants will engage in hands-on scientific discovery as they investigate the fascinating world of wasps and their importance to healthy garden ecosystems. Building upon their firsthand observations of a wasp nest from its initial construction through its development, participants will examine a safely contained nest specimen, explore the wasp life cycle, and investigate how wasps build their nests and care for their young. Through guided inquiry and interactive discussions, participants will discover how wasps contribute to biodiversity, help regulate garden pest populations, and support ecological balance. They will also explore the relationship between wildlife conservation and human safety, identifying responsible ways to manage wasp activity while minimizing unnecessary harm to beneficial organisms.
